Queen's Blade: Return of Amara, Prologue-f

The fight heats up!

Enjoy!

“Well, we were promised by Mister Hans that if we said this before a fight, he'd pay us modern money.”

The princess replied honestly, with Setra at the ready.

“By the way, it’s all good that we accepted having a preliminary, but where's your weapon, Miss Nanael?”

Menace questioned, doubtful upon seeing that the angel’s weapon was nowhere to be found.

“No matter where I look, you seem to be empty-handed~”

Just as she said, Nanael didn’t seem to have any weapon on her. The only thing that kind of resembled one was the silvery, shining armor attached to her hands and feet.

“Don’t tell me - you’re a martial artist? If so, I’m looking forward to it~.”

“Are you kidding? The thought of fighting you people with my bare hands is enough to make me faint.”

Her cheeks twitched, as she despised the idea. The very reason why both her hands and legs were clad in armor was to avoid touching the earth dwellers. Fighting barehanded was nowhere in Nanael’s plans.

“This guy is good enough for you! Celestial!”

As a response to her cry, a sword appeared in her right hand.

“You can fight to your heart’s content now.”

Nanael intended to leave it all to the sword floating in the air and jump away… but as she looked up, she felt a cold sweat. The ceiling of the massage room that became their battlefield wasn’t high enough to fly, no matter how one looked at it!

“Oops… if it’s like this, I can’t fly.”

Setra didn’t miss the whisper the angel unconsciously let out.

“Hey, Milady…”

“What is it, Setra?”

“This gal, she’s quite the fool.”

“Still, it just won’t do to hold back~”

“Even if she’s corrupted, she’s still an angel. Let’s get serious.”

“Okay, Setra.”

As they whispered to each other, Menace slowly approached the angel.

But, the sword swiftly moved to stop her.

“Ooh, telekinesis, that’s an angel for you.”

Setra analyzed the situation calmly.

“Telekinesis?”

“It’s the power to move things around without touching them.”

“Is that impressive?”

“If I had to say if it’s amazing or it ain’t… I guess it really ain’t?”

“That’s right, even you can move on your own without me touching you, Setra.”

“Hey now, Milady, don’t lump the great me together with that ordinary, inanimate weapon.”

“Ah~, I’m sorry.”

As she calmly kept up the conversation, Menace took a look at the angel.

She had placed the sword between them, and withdrawn approximately one step. A moment ago she had flapped her wings and prepared to fly up, but to her chagrin, the room’s ceiling was too low. Due to her bad luck, Nanael had lost her greatest advantage - the ability to attack from midair at will.

“What are you mumbling about? The battle has already begun, so the audience will get bored if you don’t take this seriously!"

In an attempt to keep her opponent from realizing her blunder, the angel kept pressing with her cocky attitude.

“Now you said it. Milady, why don’t you go all out!”

“Okay, Setra!”

Menace took a deep breath.

“Are you yawning!?”

The moment the angel sneered at her, the princess let it all out at once.

“Kindly bow down before the might of the Amara Kingdom~~~~!!”

The words turned into a shockwave that approached Nanael!

“L-Lady Menace!”

Sitaara prostrated himself immediately upon hearing that.

“...That might doesn’t extend to the heavens.”

In contrast to the prostrating man, the angel kept a cool face, waited for the next attack. Apparently, the attack didn’t work on arrogant people like her.

“O-Oh my?”

The intruder set her mocking eyes on the brunette, who had fallen speechless.

“Milady, stop doing the 'might appeal' so suddenly...”

Setra complained, after having received the full brunt of the shockwave.

“The only one that took damage was me!”

The parts of the scepter corresponding to Setra’s ears were vibrating minutely. It was no exaggeration to say that the power of Shout lay in its potential as a sonic weapon.

“Ah, I’m sorry, Setra.”

While the princess was apologizing, the sword floating in the air drew near.

“Go, Celestial Saber!”
