One more month passed by, and I rea~lly hope we get good news from the HJ magazine this time.
In the meantime, how did the QB girls react to the clumsy half-angel?
Enjoy!

It's awesome how we get to see some interactions here that would never take place otherwise, such as Sigui vs. Laila (something that makes even the fanatic inquisitor pause).
ReplyDeleteYep, even if Sigui is rarely trash-talking here, we learn from Eilin's that half-angels actually grow up... and from Branwen's that she and her tribe do have dragon blood in their veins after all, while we're at it.
DeleteDoes Laila usually have that odd speech pattern? I'm curious because It didn't seem to be in the anime. She seems to be talking sort of robot like here? Anyway, thanks for translating these!
ReplyDeleteDunno about the anime, but Laila always makes a short pause before the very last syllable, and ends the speech with a question (as if she was unsure), even her battle quote is like that.
DeleteIf she sounds like a robot, it's probably because she's nervous (she talks normally around Eilin), and/or because she's a simpleton (her backstory does establish her as the type who says "yes" to her missions without even understanding them) :D
Thanks for the info! I guess I haven't read enough translated material featuring Laila... Funny speech patterns like this are always a plus for me, I think it's a nice little touch to add to the occasional character.
DeleteBranwen's interactions are the best. Poor Laila, she means well. Still a fan, but Sigui is VERY condescending
