QB Battle 29.7

Mirrors: App + Media + Extra + Fanmade (update)
Sendspace: App + Media + Extra + Fanmade (update)

Added the fanmade Maya and Aya Brea (thanks to Okami31):

Coming next: dojin special edition, with Puella's Homura Akemi and Umineko's 7 Stakes of Purgatory. Also, customizable sounds and 2v2/3v3 Challenge Mode.

Edit: Fixed the links back in Upheaval's 3rd chapter, so that anyone can enjoy the story until then.

Edit2 (03-15): Put the new Hamachi network up there besides the page's title (I didn't know there was a 500 char limit ^^U), try there if you want to play online but the other network turns up full.

Edit3 (03-17): QG Pyrrha came out just in time.

Edit4 (03-22): Updated the What is QB? page with the proper pic of Welveria, the Marshland Witch. Most of the text is just her announcement, and her short bio is too small to make out, so I'll have to wait until her proper profile is posted. The most interesting tidbit? She captured Aldra's and Annelotte's mother.

  1. Are there any other networks that people play on? 060-690-602 is always full whenever I try to join.

  2. I don't know how many people does connect to the network, but it seems Hamachi's max is 15 people...
If it's not too much trouble, could you create a new one? I'll put it up there at the top of the page, so that anyone interested can try and connect.

  3. Oh wow. You actually found the Seven Stakes of Purgatory? Nice. I saw snippets of them on gelbooru and didn't think anyone actually made an entire book of them. I just finished watching Umineko myself, and that alone convinced me to go read or play the visual novels.

  4. Yep, we lucked out this time. For most of the QB "parodies", the artist doesn't pull through to complete an entire book, and when they do, they aren't popular enough to get scanned/sold properly (like the Nanoha ones?).

  5. I'll begin testing the new characters now. I've been compiling a folder of special fixes for anything I didn't mention. Some of the files you might have already fixed, but some I managed to take care of myself. I just need to find a good uploader like yousendit or something.

  6. So there are still some bugs here and there? I guess with this ridiculous amount of chars, some are bound to pop up... ^^U
If you just want to keep a working folder and forget about having to upload them from time to time, getting it on Dropbox would be a good idea.

  7. Cool, thanks. By the way, does the sound folder in your program only work with .wav files? A lot of new sounds I'm proposing are going to be converted to .mp3s and I hope that doesn't cause any problems.

  8. Hamachi Network ID:098-665-782
    Password:www.queensbladebattle.blogspot.com

This is an alternate Network for playing QBB when the other network is full. (max of 8 people)

  9. @rumormonger: You know, c# isn't supposed to handle mp3 easily, but I just found a way to play both wav and mp3 using the same "music" library the app's using now, there shouldn't be any compatibility problems.

@z-bot: Cool, let's see if you guys have more luck now.

  10. I figured the alternate cover would be Pyrrha Omega (minus the "Nightmare" like claw). Copies of it will probably show up on eBay by Monday, and it looks like Flying Buffalo is going with the tactic of selling their first copy on eBay, and then listing them on their site a week later.

  11. I uploaded my fixes to Dropbox. The folders are for reference so you can see what I changed and how. Also renamed Annelotte's blade "Grim Venus" in the sheet file and added some tag teams, like Leina and Saber (same voice actress)

  12. Okay, for me to see it, I think you need to share the folder. Just pick that folder with the files and enter my e-mail (it's in the app, in the "help -> about" section, yep I'm kinda paranoid ^^U), and I should get a notification when it's shared.

  13. Wait... That would mean...

Aldra and Annelotte are sisters?! That would mean (if I remember the backstory correctly) Aldra was looking for Annelotte during the original story. I wonder how this is going to play out...

I've also noticed that the Pyrrha book isn't showing up a whole lot. I've only noticed two listing for it so far on eBay, and I have yet to see it anywhere else.

  14. Yep they're sisters, and yep, that's who Aldra was searching all along. Both being tied to demons and with silvery hair, it wasn't really a secret, though it was only confirmed like two months ago.

Plus, my latest working theory is that the Witch's new body we can see now is their mother's, though I won't be able to back that up until her profile is posted. It'd be kinda cruel for them to face her mother's body like that, though...

As for Pyrrha, maybe QG's popularity is waning in the US? Or maybe they aren't hyping the new chars properly.

    1. I don't know about Pyrrha. The only two listing for her are in the $60 and $69 range. Most books usually go for around $35 or more unless out of print or highly sought after. And since Soul Calibur 5 only came out recently, it could be this book is selling out quicker than the last ones.

But again, that's only a theory.

    2. @leecherboy: Who confirmed about Aldra and Annelotte being sisters?

    3. If I'm not mistaken, it was confirmed in chapter 5 of the Showdown arc... the untranslated (yet) third volume of the Illustrated Stories.
