Queen's Blade Unlimited Story: Chapter 1-1(g-1)

For the Patreon poll, by overwhelming majority, 23v-57%, "no account and no interest" ended up winning. After that, there was "1-20 $" with 7v-17%, then "have an account, put no money" with 5v-12%. Trailing after those, a two-way tie between "21-100$" and "100+$" with 2v-5%, and "what's a Patreon" got no votes.
Hm, somehow expected a bit more of support, though I guess depends on which artists you favour... and it's not like I contribute hugely myself :p

Next poll, the 7 Virtues spin-off to the 7 Sins sister series, which kinda turns the idea on its head, has started! Thoughts?

Moving on with the story, we're close to being done with the veery long chapter 1-1, and a couple chars make their Unlimited debut!

Enjoy!

Chapter 1 : Elina's Journey (Part 1)

Escape! Keeper of the Forest Depths Vs The Radiant Priestess (I)

“Please, waiiiit...”
Airi cried after the fleeing Elina. Even were she to give chase right away, the crowd, gathered for what they thought would be a Queen’s Blade match, would no doubt get in the way and slow her down.
“Mmmmngh…”
The maid bit her lip in frustration, she’d been played for a fool.
Airi’s plan to avoid risking herself trying to take a magic whistle capable of vaporizing wraiths? Allow a beautiful fighter to put Michel under their care, face them in an official match and then, using the minor wish granted to her by winner’s rights, order that fighter to separate the boy from his whistle and hand it over to her.
The part involving the beautiful fighter looked to be going off without a hitch, but… therein lied the fatal flaw to the plan to begin with, didn’t it? She hadn’t quite considered the possibility that someone other than a beautiful fighter would step up as his protector.
“I’ll be sure to make her pay and then some.”
The wraith scowled towards the fleeing duo, her eyes burning with dark flames.

From atop the rooftops, Elina not so much ran but flew forth, seeking out any crowds she happened to spot.
“M-Miss, h-... hold ooon…”
The boy begged, short of breath as he was dragged along through insecure footholds.
“Request denied. You’re a boy, aren’t you? Try lasting just a little while longer, alright?”
People like that maid weren't the type to just quit. If she didn’t put at least a little distance between them and her, Elina had no doubt she’d catch back up in no time. To make the maid lose her trail, all the blonde needed was a crowd big enough to...
She suddenly stopped, spotting something out of the corner of her eye.

“That should do it.”
The shining light from a Queen’s Blade crest had only just begun to fade away, signaling the start of a fight, and where there was an official match, there was an angel. No wraith would dare make a move there.
“Let’s go.”
Skillfully whipping out the wire from her spear again, the Vance girl quickly lifted Michel up and took back to the air.
Too fast.
In a flash of color and lights, the scenery around them seemed to melt from view before a new one presented itself. Taking care not to attract any unwanted attention from the crowd below them, Elina landed them on a roof overlooking the square where the fight had broken out.

“I sure hope we’ll be okay from now on.”
“Just following you took everything I had left in me.”
The boy wearily sat himself down on the roof, trying to recover his breath.
“I think we can take it easy for now at least.”
The Vance girl took one last quick look around to confirm the maid was nowhere in sight, then put her weapon away.
“T-That’s good to hear.”
Michel gave a sigh of relief.

From what he could tell, the beautiful fighters facing each other down below were essentially polar opposites. One was a, very, curvy blonde woman, using what seemed to be a metal-reinforced holy book as her weapon and the other was a slender, breath-taking, half-elf girl. According to the lively crowd surrounding them, the two were the Radiant Priestess, Melpha, and the Keeper of the Forest Depths, Nowa.
Nowa fought in a somewhat unpredictable fashion, attacking at seemingly random intervals with her staff while Melpha kept entirely defensive.

“Boring.”
“You think so?”
“It’d be one thing if she had any way to turn this around, but… Well, even you can probably guess what’ll happen if she just keeps taking attacks from Nowa like that, right?”
“Melpha will lose?”
“Pretty much.”
“Maybe she does have something like that?”
“We won’t know unless she fights, now will we?”
The moment Elina answered that, shouts suddenly burst out from the people down below.
“That’s a Holy Pose!”

“Wha-!?”
The noble girl was struck speechless.
The priestess had taken a pose, raising the hem of her skirt to the point where she exposed her underwear for all to see.
Shameless… But just as that thought began crossing Elina’s mind, a miracle happened.
All who’d looking at Melpha as she posed, Nowa included, suddenly stiffened.
“Holy Pose: Binding…!”
The priestess opened to a page from her Holy Book and shouted towards Nowa.
“Kindly repent!”
Their bodies still very tense, those affected all began to kneel at her command.
Faced with Melpha’s awe-inspiring display, Elina felt a sudden need to swallow her own words.
With such an amazing restraining technique at her disposal, victory would be all but assured to the priestess.
However, it seemed Nowa wasn’t the type to give up. Striking the ground with one end of her staff, she used the momentum to suddenly launch herself high up into the air.
“Nowa’s got nothing she needs to be ashamed of!”
Spinning her weapon as she sailed through the air to increase its speed, the half-elf then suddenly thrust the staff out towards the priestess.
“Divine Protection!”
But Melpha caught the incoming attack with her glowing holy book and deflected it instead.
It was a surprisingly even match.
