QB Battle 21.4

Megaupload: App + Media + Extra chars (update)
Sendspace: App + Media + Extra chars (update)

Changed the music system (should be compatible with everybody, though if that's not the case, let me know and I'll let users choose between the two), and adapted the giant robots Griffon and Locust, from the Battletech series (it's kind of weird to fight robots with normal people, but whatever :D):

The robots had highly damaging moves but took little damage, so to adapt them, they take more damage and the moves are less powerful (the end result is basically the same). Also, they bring a new concept, "overheating": if after doing moves, you reach 30 Heat, you'll only be able to use a couple of moves that release Heat that turn (kind of risky moves, at that).

Coming next: Tifa, and maybe Black Widow.

Edit (06-01): The What is QB? page was updated with Queen's Blade Rebellion Lyla's announcement for July 29th. Also, a fix that might solve the ongoing music problem for some users: Megaupload/Sendspace

  1. Ok, so I downloaded the new version. Tried it, it still crashes. As soon as I start it up, a window pops up and says it's stopped working. I'm using Windows 7.

  2. If it crashes and it doesn't give you one of my new custom error messages, it's not really a problem with the music or anything I can easily fix.
The only requirement for this kind of programs is the Visual C++ 2005 package (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&displaylang=en), so if you have that and it still doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.

  3. I have the same problem, version 20.8 works fine for me but anything newer just crashes like J said.

  4. Maybe you have a 64 bit version of Windows, or something? Man, updating to the latest version of C# has only been a bother so far...
Please try the latest update I posted (where there are no references to that music system's DLL), and if it doesn't work, I'll try and switch back to the version I was using before the glitches started.

  7. It turns out all I needed was Visual C++...

I have tried all the compatibilities. I did notice on the FAQs you said a problem with Media Player and add nosound to system.cfg I don't see this file any where. No sure I'd like to take a look at this game.

  9. I'm glad some of the troubles could be solved through installing that C++, I'll have to add that to the FAQs.
Since the game's not using Media Player anymore, the "nosound" solution won't work anyways, so if it glitches out even after installing C++ and using the last fix I posted a couple of days ago, I don't know how to solve the problem.

Might I suggest a line switches on the program from nosound, if that is possible?

  11. Oh, System.BadImageFormatException, seems like some parts are meant for 32 bits and some aren't...
I'll see if I can correct that for the next time, thanks for the details.
