Queen's Blade: Sangoku Smash collaboration

Sup guys, so yesterday the QB Unlimited retweeted this announcement about a QB collaboration in a mobile game. The game in question is apparently called Sangoku Smash (3 Kingdoms Smash?), by A-Team, available here, and possibly known as"Sansuma".

This one
The collaboration apparently started last week (sure took the QB guys time to announce it) and will only last for a couple more days, so I guess you're still in time to check it out for yourselves if you wanna.

So I thought: how could I, of all people, not see what it's all about? And then I did.

Want some?

Right from the beginning, the collaboration thingie gives you a 5 star Nanael from logging in the 1st day. There are also a few collaboration gachas where you could theoretically many other QB chars... but you're only going to get Tomoes, if you're lucky.

There's also a rewards event, where collecting "beautiful fighters" points from certain gachas could eventually net you enough points to buy Melona and Leina, but that would take a long time... Plus, apparently you can get Elina if you qualify high enough in the BF points ranking... yeah, as if.
(Also, the first time you enter this event there's a small conversation between Leina, Tomoe, Elina, and Claudette if I recall? I didn't think to take pics at the time tho)

Look at them, taunting you
So near, yet so far...
You're supposed to earn Beautiful Fighters points by completing 2 specific battles: an Irma quest or a Claudette quest. You'd better buff up your chars before attempting even Irma's, though (still, a point in the game's favor is that they're crazy generous with stamina: you can keep leveling up to rank 30 and accumulate more and more, never getting close to running out).

Irma's lets you power up most of the QB cast
Claudette's lets you power up... Claudette

But I haven't even explained what the game is like, have I?

Well, it's basically like a pogs battle thing? You sling your chars all around the screen, and they bounce around when they hit someone or something. The idea is that you hit the enemies as much as you can to reduce their HP bars, though you might also want to hit your own characters during the throw, since they'll also join in the attack. Of course, there's also a rock-paper-scissors weakness thing, this time with 5 elements.

When life gives you Tomoes...
Some characters have a straight (piercing?) shot, that lets them go through any enemy without bouncing off, while other characters have a more explosive shot, that when you time it right, gets you a "Smash Shot!" that is presumably the strongest. There might have been other types of shots, but eh, couldn't be bothered to figure them out.

I have you on my sights!
As you receive or deal damage, or pick various items that might appear on the screen, the dragon icon to the left will eventually fill, and let you do a team attack with plenty of funky effects that deals huge amounts of damage to everything on the screen:

Find the odd one out
Also, you might have noticed that each char has a number besides it. When they reach 0, you can tap the character, and when you throw it around, they'll do their special attack:

So yeah, like I mentioned earlier, you can grind the story mode for gems all you like, but the gachas are probably only give you 1 Tomoe, or 2 if you're lucky. What you're supposed to do instead if you're aiming for the QB chars is to buff all the 5 stars chars you can find up to level 99 (to add to the game's favor, this is also pretty easy to do, if you're willing to not hog all the items for later), and go fight in the Irma event:

Winning will get you Irma and Alleyne as a freebie, plus some Beautiful Fighters points that can be used for enhancing items or whatever.

And then, if you're going for broke with the QB gals, you can try Claudette's event, that is even harder with all the lightning attacks you're going to get struck with. I had to continue once to clear the easiest one, and the hardest one won't let you continue, so...

Then... after that, you're pretty much done QB-wise. You can continue playing to see if you come across some lucky fellas who have gotten the other QB gals and are using them as leaders, but don't count on finding many...

So yeah, the game is fun at the beginning and stuff, but as soon as you reach max level 99 with your 5 star characters and you have to depend on other kinds of enhancing (mostly using Irma cards from fights with her), it ends up losing most of the initial excitement.

And that's basically all the QB stuff you can get from the so-called "Sansuma"! Hope you liked it!

As bonus, here's a few more pics!

All together now!
Victory! ...I think?

I heard you like gachas

  1. Queen's Blade "real" video games need to happen now. I really wish they would do more NEW actual animation and not previously released still images. Need a remake of spiral chaos but with nudity and cut scenes with unreleased story arcs that they didn't do in the anime. It would be great for PC seeing as PS4 wouldn't release it. The fighting would be epic possibly Mortal Kombat style but fatalities might instead be sexy humiliations ala Vanquished Queens style and they cannot forget the battle armor/clothes breaking off.

  2. I vote for a more Soul Caliber Style game for them. IT suits them better. They really do need a fighting game.

    1. i could see a soul caliber esque rpg where like in spiral chaos you can targetan opponents armor/clothes to weaken them and maybe include the attacks and unique characteristics they had in the gamebooks.:3
