Queen's Blade Unlimited Story: Chapter 8-2d

Closing chapter 8, we go back to our actual main character?

Enjoy!

Present: Elina’s Journey

As she advanced towards the direction Michel’s playing of the flute showed, Elina’s head was filled with thoughts about Leina; there were things she couldn’t make heads or tails of.
On that day her Sister left, their father hadn’t actively searched for her. If he had been serious about it, he’d even have mobilized the army.
And yet, he had sent out some hired spies to obtain information. Just enough to make her suspect he wasn’t actually searching for her.
It wasn’t hard to imagine that there had been some sort of exchange between her Sister and their father. And sure enough, no matter how she asked, he would never tell her the truth.
That was why she had left the Earldom as well. To search for that truth.

“Let’s take a break.”
She raised her hand a bit and told her party to rest.
They were in the landscape overlooking the north of the Continent, close to the mountaintop.
In the distance, smoke rose from the iron mountains; under their eyes, there was a green plain, which continued until the desert that spread far away.
“We can at last?”
Airi set down their luggage, relief clear in her face.

She was carrying everyone’s luggage. The wraith was always getting worked hard, but despite her complaints, she normally had a pleasant expression on.
“You don’t actually walk, so you shouldn’t be tired, right?”
The maid softly stuck her tongue at Elina’s quip. The silly gesture made the boy smile.
“Airi, let’s make tea.”
“Yes, certainly.”

With that, the redhead started preparing the tea, after spreading the tea ware.
“What kind of person is your sister, that Miss Leina we’re chasing, Lady Elina?”
“Did I never tell you?”
“I was hoping for more details...”
“Well, she’s perfect in every way.”
“Perfect in every way?”
“Yes: beautiful, kind, strong... a wonderful person, all in all. You’ll be able to meet her soon.”

With a fascinated look in her eyes, she turned to the boy’s flute.
“Because she will be there... at Maramaks.”
“I’d also like to meet her.”
“I’ll make sure I introduce you. You’re an important companion on this trip, after all.”
