Queen's Blade Unlimited Story: Chapter 7-2b(1)

Now, time to battle for the shota's sake!?

Enjoy!

Chapter 7: Ymir’s Lovey-Dovey Strike Strategy: Mission Impossible (Part 2)

Queen’s Blade: Elina vs Ymir

“Riight, second time for the Iron Princess Ymir today~”
Nanael’s voice echoed through the Iron Mountain’s arena.
The stadium was filled with merchants and travelers visiting the dwarves’ land, who cheered in response.
“Iron Princess Ymir! I’d like you to go back home and leave Michel with me!”
The crest shone as she declared so.

“Inescapable Shadow Elina! I’ll have you give up on him!”
Elina’s crest shone, and collided with Ymir’s emblem, sending a pillar of light extending towards the ceiling.
As she took on the rain of falling light, Nanael took in a sharp breath:
“Now, show me a good fight! O beautiful fighters, show what you’re made of without reserves, fight with all your very best! A fight worthy of Queen’s Blade!”

As soon as they heard her signal, both fighters approached each other, carefully studying their opponent.
“I don’t really feel like fighting, though.”
“Are you giving up then?”
They were at a distance where they could hear each other with minimum effort, as they waited for an opportunity.
“ ‘Don’t run away from challengers’, that’s the ruler’s duty. I’m sure a Princess like you would know.”
“You’re damn right!”
Ymir charged. Bulky battleaxe notwithstanding, she pounced on Elina with the speed of a beast. The Vance girl wasted no time jumping back to avoid it.

However, it didn’t seem likely she’d make it.
In a momentary judgment, she stabbed her long spear onto the stadium’s floor. A high-pitched metallic sound echoed, the vibrations transmitted from her weapon numbing her arms.
“Oooh! That’s an excellent weapon right ‘ere, not breaking with the blow of my axe!”
The dwarf briefly gave it a glowing appraisal, then went for the second attack.
This time the blonde had enough leeway to avoid it, and as she leapt backwards, she adjusted her breath.
[Our speed is evenly matched, Ymir’s power is stronger. A tough enemy indeed.]
Her eyes gave a quick glance to the VIP seats. Michel, Airi and Claudette were watching her fight from there.
[I can’t lose this battle.]

Michel covered his ears, unable to endure the metallic sounds. Claudette couldn’t suppress a smile seeing him doing so.
[I feel sorry for Elina, but Ymir’s victory is set in stone by now.]
Even the general acknowledged the dwarf princess’ skills. Unlike what one could tell at a glance, the powerful might brought about by that short body of hers let her unleash blows of unfathomable strength and speed.
That strength was also directly linked to her defense; the armor she had on—probably belonging to the ‘leather armor’ type visually—worked as well against attacks as typical clunky iron armor did among humans.
Attack, defense, speed; there was no other Beautiful Fighter—save for Ymir—who could achieve all of those at an extremely high level.
For example, Echidna had problems with defense, Alleyne’s attacks couldn’t be say to hold much power, while she herself wouldn’t be able to reach Ymir’s speed.
[I apologize. I really do. However, this is just so I can bring you back.]
Apologizing in her heart, Claudette gave in to her fantasies, imagining herself gently stroking Elina’s head, comforting her after leaving Michel.

“You’re really... strong, aren’t you.”
“Hohoh, praise me as much as you like, but I won’t go easy on you; after all, my husband’s at stake.”
With a calm smile, Ymir closed the distance.
Elina had heard from Airi beforehand that her attack range was unexpectedly wide. And with the centrifugal force the dwarf imprinted her blows with, the battle axe would struck the hardest at the end of its swing. Which meant, the blonde had no chance of winning unless she got up close.
“Let’s goo! Hope you’re ready.”
Ymir’s battle axe approached, hand in hand with a shockwave like a windstorm’s. Despite Elina dodging those very blows by a fair margin, her clothing got torn up when the weapon grazed her, exposing her soft skin to the public.

“How long do you think you can keep running away?”
Slowly but steady, the dwarf kept her offense on.
Elina could see Claudette sending her a signal from the VIP seats: a sign only for them sisters.
It was a warning from the older sister that she shouldn’t be exposing her skin any more than she already had.
The hand sign did imply that giving up was okay—and so the blonde chose to ignore it.
[I can’t let my journey end yet. I haven’t even caught a glimpse at my Sister Leina, and I haven’t even laid a finger on the door to Maramaks.
Giving up here means abandoning everything I’ve obtained in this trip.]
“Even if you say so, Step-Sister, I can’t approve of it.”
