Queen's Blade Unlimited Story: Chapter 5-1e(2)

Alle and Catt are at Echi's footsteps, but she's watching...?

Enjoy!

“It’s up ahead.”
Before Alleyne’s gaze, there was a rocky mountain reminiscent of a solitary island floating in a sea of green: Echidna’s hideout, the small fortress known as “Viper’s Nest”.
Its wet rocky surface preventing one from climbing, various poisonous insects and snakes living in the surrounding jungle, plus beasts of prey counted among its natural defenses.
“Let’s prepare for a swift attack.”
The elf tightened the straps of her boots and threw a glance at Cattleya.
‘Can you keep up?’
Cattleya nodded at the silent question.
The two rushed through the tree crowns, aiming at the rocky mountain wet by rain.

“Good grief... talk about party-poopers.”
Watching the crystal ball, Echidna shrugged, not even bothering to cover her grimace. It was the first time Michel had seen such a genuinely miserable expression on her face.
[Echidna’s always so confident, who’s the opponent that has her making this kind of expression?]
His curiosity piqued, he looked into the crystal ball the other was also gazing into.
A large number of creatures had been put in place to protect the stone cave dug into the rocky mountain where Echidna had her hideout, harking back to a castle in the midst of a labyrinth. What those imitations of snakes saw was reflected in the crystal ball.
“Not only Irma is missing now, but with these two popping up...”

Two beautiful girls appeared there: a warrior elf wearing a green mantle and a pretty woman following her, a huge sword in her hand.
Elf warrior aside, Michel’s gaze was drawn towards the other woman.
[She’s huge.]
As a matter of course, her breasts were enormous as well, to the point where his head would be completely sandwiched between her cleavage. And the stability of her hips was nothing short of breathtaking.
“Oh my? Do you like those types, Michel?”

Echidna grinned.
[It’s true that my eyes went to her, but that doesn’t mean I like her type.]
“Unfortunately, she’s a married woman.”
“She’s married?”
“Yeah, has one son too.”
Michel didn’t know what to say.
Indeed, there was no age restriction to participate in Queen’s Blade, but as far as he knew, it was the first time he had seen a beautiful fighter who was also a mother.
“The millennial virgin and the strongest wife... quite a troublesome combination.”
The elf shook her head in resignation.

“If it had been just the millennial virgin, I had any amount of ways to beat her, but...”
Echidna’s hand toyed with a silver sphere. Alleyne was an opponent difficult to deal with, but there were ways around her. For example, the magical snake that had incapacitated Elina; if she activated one of those dormant ones, it wouldn’t be difficult to contain the combat master.
However, she couldn’t hope for that to work against Cattleya, the second woman trailing behind.
“This fella has no effect on married women.”
She returned the sphere to the shelf, then put a hand to her hip.
“The question is, why did these two suddenly show up here?”

The elf sent a gaze at him.
“Any idea?”
[I’d be lying if I said I don’t. Maybe the talisman I stuck to Irma’s luggage worked out.
Is she asking because she saw through it all?]
He tightly closed his lips and remained silent. If so much as a word peeped out of his mouth, she might be able to squeeze it all out of him.
“Oh well. I was thinking this was a good time to shake things up a little.”
