Fierce Battle! Queen's Blade, Ch 3a

We start the 3rd chapter! It should also be the first crossover with the main story, as Elina watches the battle between Leina and Airi from Fio's book!

Enjoy!

Chapter 3: BBQ Battle

Late at night, when even caravans hesitated to move, one carriage was roaring noisily on the highway. 4 horses with very good builds pulled this carriage, full of wonderful ornaments. The coat of arms on it represented Earl Vance's house. Riding on it was his daughter Elina, captain of the Royal Guard.

The reason why she was hurrying is her mission to capture her older sister Leina, who had run away from home to participate in the Queen’s Blade tournament.

“Do hurry up, Irma.”

She gave an order to the coach box, without ever taking her eyes off the crystal ball. Reflected on it was the battle between a blond warrior and a redhead, the latter's body covered in chamberlain clothes. The preliminary of the Exiled Warrior Leina versus the Temptress of the Underworld Airi, taking place right then in a basement of the free city Sheldan.

[I must arrive at Sheldan by daybreak at the latest, or else it will be impossible to achieve my mission.]

The excellent maid with short cut, blue hair held the whip in her right hand, the reins in her left, driving as she precisely handled the four horses.

They were running too fast to be relying only on the moonlight. Irma really had to focus on her driving; if she deviated even a little from the highway, the wheel would break in an instant and she’d cause a horrible accident. It was clear as day what would be happening to Irma then, being as she was in the coach box.

“Irma?”

She didn’t answer Elina’s question.

[There’s one thing I wanted to ask, but it doesn’t matter now.]

The top priority was arriving at Sheldan as soon as possible, that’s why Irma was concentrating.

[If we make it safely, I might even give her a reward. It’s too late to think about this now, but I wish I had stayed in Sheldan and put up a net.]

Amidst sighs, Elina looked back at the crystal ball, and what she saw then made her lose her speech. They were skin-colored, round breasts.

“Eh? Ah?”

The sudden picture threw her into a panic. With that skin white as snow, they definitely were her sister Leina’s.

“H-How could you…”

Airi’s scythe had cut the strap holding Leina’s armor, and the crystal ball displayed the breasts bouncing out of it in terrific detail.

Leina had been glamorous from the beginning, but the harsh life on the road had polished her body even more beautiful. A full-fledged warrior now, her body was firmer than what Elina remembered.

Seeing Leina’s figure, fighting without covering her rich breasts, made her swallow saliva. Yet when it occurred to her that an unknown number of people could be watching that same indecorous appearance of the sister she loved and respected, her heartbeats increased violently.

[I must stop this broadcast right away!]

Unaware of her sister’s thoughts, Leina never stopped battling.

“Ah, no, dooon’t! Only I can see Big Sis’ boobs!”

She involuntarily shouted at the ball.

“Is there anything wrong, Milady?”

Predictably, even Irma heard her there.

“I-It’s nothing, Irma.”

Hurrying to gloss over it, her gaze turned back to the ball.

“Eh?”

One new surprise made her stare in wonder. Leina had lost the weapon she used to wield, and now was holding a far more obscene one; the handle Leina grasped resembled a male genital.

“W-Why do you have that…?”

Elina involuntarily gulped, her cheeks dyed in a light pink color.

The weapon in Leina’s hands was a sacred weapon called the Sword of Unicorn, but that was something no one in the audience knew, including Elina. Still, despite its indecent look, it had a terrible power. Using it, Leina displayed an overwhelming strength, making Airi disappear and ending the preliminary match.

Elina rested her body on the leather seat. Considering the long-distance travels, the softly finished cushion was great at gently hugging her body.

[If we keep going at this speed, we should definitely reach Sheldan tomorrow morning.]

“It’s better if I rest for now.”

The very moment she closed her eyes to try and take a nap, she heard Irma’s short scream from the coach box.

“What’s wrong?”

She only needed to lean her body out of the window to understand why she had screamed. There were no horses pulling the carriage.

“I’m sorry, Milady.”

“What happened?”

Irma was gripping the palm of her hand, from which red droplets fell–*drip*, *drip*.

“You got injured, didn’t you?”

Elina moved to the coach box, took her hand and examined the wound. Fortunately, it didn’t seem to be deep.

“This shouldn’t take long to heal. You may use my medicine cabinet.”

“I’m sorry.”

“So, where are the horses?”

The maid pointed to the road ahead in silence.

Probably, the horses hadn’t even noticed they weren’t pulling the carriage anymore. Elina felt like she could hear a subtle neigh from far away.

“Good grief…”

The horse stopper broken in half painted a clear description of what had transpired.

“I checked before departing and saw no abnormalities, but… I won’t know the details until we stop and I can examine it more in depth.”

“I see… No crying over spilt milk, then. First of all, stop the carriage.”

“Yes, Milady.”

Deprived of its driving force, the carriage unsteadily advanced through the highway, and stopped when it ran into the shoulder of the road.

The moonlight illuminated the forest at night like sunlight filtering through the foliage.

A bonfire, arranged so it couldn’t be seen from the highway’s surface, lit red the faces of robust men. This was no army. As proof, their equipment was varied. Some carried katanas, some swords, some clubs, there was a rich variety. It wasn’t just equipment, either: their ages and races were also inconsistent.

The men surrounded the bonfire, laughing loudly as they heartily drank wine from the heavy barrels they had put aside.

“Hey hey, you guys, leave some for me!”

A full figured woman in a red head shouted at them, as she poured wine into a circular shield reminiscing of a huge dish.

“Yo! Elder sister!”

The men answered her in unison. They were the gang of the Bandit of the Wilderness, a group of bandits led by Risty, that very bandit, who was competing in Queen’s Blade.

“So, what happened to that Wanabe guy? If he doesn't come, we won't have enough meat, right?”

Risty, quickly drinking her wine, asked the man by her side with a whiny tone in her voice.

“He should come soon, tho’.”

“Man, and we got some good stuff tonight.”

Complaining, Risty poured herself a drink.

“H-Hey, elder sister, aren’t you drinking too much?”

“Huh? Ain’t this much just fine? We’re not gonna work tonight, either.”

The redhead downed her drink in one go, then ordered the underlings to bring every barrel, and sat down on the empty wine cask.

The gang of the Bandit of the Wilderness had made a surprise attack that night at the feudal lord who ruled that district. He had been asking farmers for an expensive tax, and took away cattle and pigs from those who couldn’t pay.

Risty’s gang attacked the mansion of this infamous “meat-eating lord” who killed those animals for food, but they were slightly late, and returned the remaining livestock to the farmers after claiming the still edible meat as their “reward.”

Since many from the Risty gang had been raised as farmers, they understood very well the importance of livestock. Especially for cows, their milk was a staple among the workforce. Only a villain would resort to taking them away.

“Sorry I kept ya!”

A tall man arrived with a cow slung over his shoulder, his voice tearing up the darkness.

“So slow!”

Risty threw her shield. It flew through the air like a Frisbee, and hit him.

“Gugah!”

Although he moaned in shock, he still didn’t let go of the cow.

“You’re so cruel here, elder sister~.”

“Blame yourself for bein’ late.”

She shamelessly grinned, and took out an iron spear.

“Now, pierce it with this and let it fry, lemme hear some sizzles.”

One carriage was stopped on the edge of the highway, lighted up by the moonlight. If it had been going a little faster, it’d have plunged into the forest and crashed.

The skill Irma possessed to adjust the carriage's speed and stop it safely, without breaking it, was beyond simple praise.

“I wonder what we should do now,” Elina was pondering, sitting on the carriage’s roof.

After Irma was done with her medical treatment, she went to retrieve the running horses ahead.

Since it was night already, the horses might not have gone too far. Still…

“Haa...”

She gave a deep sigh.

At Sheldan, there was a stop for the stagecoach that reached through all the Continent. If Leina managed to use it, she’d be able to travel anywhere in the Continent. For Elina, hot in her heels, that’d be akin to losing her trail.

“If only I was able to catch up to her, I'd capture her by all means."

Since she still kept her acquaintances with Sheldan’s ruling class from her previous visit, it should be possible for them to accommodate some of her demands, unreasonable as they might be. For example, delaying the departure of the long-distance stagecoach…

For a so-called free city, it actually wasn’t that big. If she could also block the exits, searching for someone who stood out like Leina and capturing her would pose no problem.

“Fuhaa…”

Elina had lost the count of her own sighs by now.

Chasing after a "champion of justice", she had gone to the Great Wall and around the Iron Mountain, but she had only met worthless adventurers.

There weren’t even any Queen’s Blade participants, to have any preliminaries against.

“Big Sis… do you remember me…?”

Suddenly, an impossible picture crossed her mind, making her anxious.

Traveling as a mere adventurer after abandoning the Vance family name, how bad could things have gotten for her? Of course, she’d be going everywhere by foot, and camping out in the open…

[My sister is a noble, that's no way for an aristocrat lady to spend her days.]

She stared at the crystal ball, which had relayed the battle between Leina and Airi a while back.

That Leina who fought with her cheeks dyed red in shame, exposing her rich breasts... that wasn’t the Leina she knew.

[Beautiful, gentle Big Sis, I have to capture you before any female warrior gets to corrupt you!]

“First, I'd have to dodge her attack, I guess?"

She closed her eyes, and thought about fighting Leina.

As soon as the battle began, her sister would charge with her sword. She’d be fine just jumping back, there was no need for her to meet her attack straight.

Once she got close, she’d break her balance by whispering in her ear.

[What should I whisper about? About her boobs, after all?]

“Is it true that they sag when they’re this big?”

[Maybe her ass?]

“You think… this has gotten bigger than your breasts?”

With Leina’s armor, only her right arm and her ass were unguarded.

“What bad taste, an armor that leaves your ass bare.”

[Yup, this is it. Let’s go with that.]

She might lose to her sister when it came to breast size, but she was confident she wouldn’t with her beautiful buttocks.

[Unlike breasts, butts aren’t ‘the bigger the better’.]

“If they’re bare, they hang down. Drooped buttocks are unseemly.”

She was hesitant about having to say such awful things to the Big Sis she was proud of, but with it being a match, she was out of options.

If she got caught up in her pace, she’d take the chance and capture her with her wire. Tomoe could attest to its effectiveness.

“Alright, this can work!”

She clenched her first with a new resolve.

At the same time though, her stomach growled, making her lose her strength.

[Come to think of it, it’s been more than half a day since I last ate.]

“I’m hungry…”

She had eaten the sausages she kept hidden days ago. As far as preserved food went, sausages weren’t hard to come by, but Elina being picky about the taste didn’t help her case.

[Should I return to the Earldom, even if it's to resupply momentarily…? However, I can’t go back empty-handed.]

As leader of the Royal Guard, she would lose face if she showed up with no exploits to tell.

“If only there was some handy villain around, huh."

Suddenly, a fragrant smell that drifted from somewhere tickled Elina’s nasal cavity.

“I’m so hungry, I can even smell things.”

She just dismissed it as a hallucination. There couldn’t possibly be anyone grilling meat in the middle of the night, the moon even rising to its far-off zenith.

However… no matter how much she tried to ignore it, it didn’t seem intent on disappearing.

“Should I make sure?”

[Irma won’t be coming back anytime soon, in any case.]

With her spear in her hand, Elina swiftly jumped off the carriage and made towards the smell.
