The new style lacks all the eroticism of the original. I really wish they went back to the old look.
ReplyDeletei actually like the unlimited series(moreso white triangle and the story than the ova which like with grimoires ova felt flat to me as it was based off a not very interesting part of the story,but i do still like the characters especially elina whom im glad is more based of her hide and seek incarnation than the anime. im a bit more interested in the 2nd ova due to menace and nanaels appearance and possibly see the return of yuki gota and aya hirano to voice them since they did in white triangle.)but i do agree i miss the old universe as i like some of its designs more and i feel story-wise whether game-book or anime it feels incomplete.
DeleteDidn't know Melona could transform into things. Is that the ability of the WT Melona only or did the origanal one also transform into objects?
ReplyDeleteAh right, she literally also transformed into a bridge in Unlimited too (untranslated), I don't think she did anything like this in classic tho... But then again, she could transform any part of her body into a weapon, sooo...

Deletethe closest i can think of is when she transformed into a sword that aldra was using during her fight against leina in the manga based off the anime. i actually really liked that manga and if the original series were to come back id like it if it was like that since i really loved melona and airi in it (kinda disappointed outside of a short story of her running into elina while building her kingdom, menace doesn't appear much in the story.)

DeleteThat poll picture... Seeing them side by side like that really shows up two of the main changes they made to the character designs:
ReplyDelete1. Everyone's hair is twice as long.
2. Everyone's breasts went up two sizes. But not in a good way. In the original, they look as though they could fall out of those dresses at any moment (especially Elina's), but the updated versions look about as jiggly as a pair of turnips. Keep 'em natural, I say.
But hey, at least they didn't try to sneak any more ribbons onto Leina's outfit...
