Hm, 'just right', not too long and not too short, is that it? Goldie would be proud :3
Now, funky poll about possible additions to WT!
And things get piping hot in the final fight!
Enjoy!
As the elf predicted, Leina’s sword only cut through air.
“Oh my?”
Moments before the blonde could land her finishing blow, the wraith’s agility kicked in.
And, having swung her sword down with full force, Leina had no choice but to follow through with the impact.
“Kuh!”
Momentarily losing her balance, she fervently tried steadying herself as to not fall over. Meanwhile, Airi successfully jumped away from the warrior’s range, her short skirt fluttering.
[I guess that settles the first exchange.]
Leina’s plan of attack was simple, attack and keep attacking again and again, leaving no time for counterattack or any opening for her essence to be drained.
[And it’s worked so far too.]
Airi’s maid uniform was torn in various places, exposing her soft skin.
While Leina on the other hand, nary had a scratch.
Comparing the two, it was fairly reasonable to assume the Vance girl had the upper hand here.
Underestimating her physical strength had been a crucial miscalculation from Airi.
“You hold your Exiled Warrior title well, I should never have gone easy on you.”
“Holding back isn’t doing you any favors. So why don’t you bring it on for real now?”
“Very well. Then allow me to acquiesce.”
They each took a step back, studying the other’s movements.
Circling each other, it was almost as if they were dancing.
*Tan-ta-tan*
Leina’s footsteps inscribed a rhythm.
*Tan-ta-tan… tan*
And matching that rhythm, she flung herself towards Airi!
Same as before: a charge!
To which, Airi replied in kind with a charge of her own!
The sharp, clear ring of metal striking metal echoed throughout the underground.
“Not bad.”
Leina couldn’t help but admire, Airi’s decision to face her attack head-on took a lot of guts.
“To think you’d use the same tactic twice. It would seem I made the right choice.”
In a flash, the wraith’s fingers extended.
“Shit!”
The blonde instantly regretted being so stupid.
Now that the maid had matched her opening blow, Leina couldn’t follow through with any of her rapid attacks. She’d given Airi just the opening she needed to perform the one attack the blonde was most wary of.
The transparent tendrils slipped past her armor and made direct contact with her body.
“Auuuugh….”
Leina shuddered as she felt something brush against her heart.
“Nnh~~, how wonderful.”
Airi sighed in rapt ecstasy, her cheeks dyed red.
“Kuh!!”
The other furiously squirmed, trying to pull free from the wraith’s clutches.
“Predictable.”
The wraith hooked her scythe around one of the Vance girl’s legs.
“W-Whoah!”
And yet again, Leina lost her footing.
“Now if you don’t mind, I think I’ll be helping myself to your essence again.”
Airi’s lips curled, wriggling her fingertips within Leina’s body.
“I think you’ve taken enough from me already!!”
Blocking the wraith’s sightline with her shield, Leina suddenly thrust out her sword.
“Eek!!”
[I got a clean cut with that one.]
The sword slashed through Airi’s arm.
However, the wound seemed to disappear in a flash, not even leaving the slightest speck of blood. All that remained of Leina’s would be strike was yet another rip on the maid’s uniform.
“Just… what are you?”
Having seen what Airi’s body was capable of made Leina realize yet again that her opponent wasn’t human.
Airi blew a puff of air onto her right arm, which should have been cut, and gave Leina a troubled look.
“What else could I possible be…? I’m the ‘Infernal Temptress’.”
The wraith tried gently floating up but Leina knocked her back down without a moment’s delay.
“Kyan!”
With a girlish scream, the evil spirit lost her balance.
[I’ll settle things this time.]
Leina swiftly swung out with her sword.
“Kyaaaah!”
And following the heavy downswing, the wraith bounced off the floor like a discarded apple.
“Haa, haa, haa…”
Limp and on the floor, her opponent didn’t move.
[The fight is over.]
However, her crystal ball hadn’t returned yet.
“There’s no way…”
*Sway*
“I got too careless.”
Airi stood back up, supported by a spirit orb.
“As expected from the Exiled Warrior my Mistress has her eye on.”
Delicately pinching at the hem of her skirt, the maid respectfully bowed.
“My sincerest apologies for the rudeness thus far. But, I’ll be making off with your essence and soul now.”
Her serious gaze caught Leina by surprise.
Airi’s maid uniform, cut up and damaged several times throughout their skirmish, no longer showed any signs of having been roughed up at all. It looked almost brand new.
“Seems I got myself a real nasty piece of work for an opponent.”
“A lady should try and watch what she says.”
Airi readied her scythe again, facing Leina.
Both would have to break out all the stops.
