They also gave individual pages to the characters there (with basically the same information as their classic selves, except for the battle quotes), started a funky story (featuring a new shota character?), and even opened a Twitter account!

ReplyDeleteI don't want to sound like I'm hating on the redesigns just for being different but...wow. Can't say I'm exactly a fan of most of them.

I absolutely LOVE Melpha's redesign. She doesn't look ridiculous as she did before. Plus her new look suits her personality. Echidna was fine the way she was before. Course the new design is pretty cool

ReplyDeleteokay. I expressed my dislike for the previously shown redesigns but DAYUM ECHIDNA LOOK THICK. Iliked the darker skin and white hair. I'm still not sold on the new designs but that's a really good one. Nanael looks okay, and I'm indifferent towards Melpha

DeleteI know It's not original, but I can't help it if I like dark girls. to me it was just a small tweak to a character design I already liked. granted she lost the nipple jewels but it's still a good design.

ReplyDeleteLooking at Melpha and Echidna again, They really should have I guess longer faces or something to make them look older than the other characters. I shudder to think what Cattalya and Claudette would look like in this style. If they do get around to redoing the Rebellion characters, I REALLY hope they redo Luna Luna and get rid of that GOD DAMN STRAP ON!!

DeleteWell, the designs didn't change that much, I was kinda worried the changes were too extreme and made them look like totally different characters. I really like them tbh :)
ReplyDeleteNotably, I'd say I welcome Elina's redesign since I always kinda thought her clothes were a bit er, barbarian should I say? for someone so blatant about being a noble(she kinda reminds me of Ayla from Chrono Trigger, both having feline traits); on the other side I think her design also matched her indomitable personality :) But her redesign might match nicely that haughty nobility aura too imo.
And about Melpha and Echidna, rather than not looking that mature, I think that overall these designs have a more "moe" style that is the trend nowadays and wasn't that prominent back in the days of the first series, if that makes any sense xD
But yeah, I like the new designs and looking forward to more QBU!
