Changelog
What's the biggest change this time? Well, you can play Online Mode using "servers" now! For some years, I've been trying (and people have asked me as well) to incorporate some kind of free servers to the game and get rid of the hassle of Hamachi and/or knowing your partner's IP, and I've finally come up with an audacious yet quite satisfying solution. You can see it in action here, me fighting my partner:
Of course, this option brings a bit of lag to the table, and since I didn't want to risk having rollback, I decided you can't cancel attacks anymore when playing Online, too bad.
I don't know how this will turn out, so I'd appreciate if you guys tried it out and let me know how it works for you, or maybe some ideas to improve it? (already considering adding a few 8/10 person lobbies for tournaments or stuff, though I'm not very knowledgeable about online games myself)
And that's not all, hit the jump for the added online replay functionality~!
Now, after every online battle you fight, you'll send a replay up to the "servers" for anyone to watch at their discretion. Here's how it looks for now:
I figured it'd be a fun way for anyone interested to keep track of all the battles everyone fights :D
As with the online mode, it's in a kinda basic state. I'm considering adding things like downloading replays, up/downvoting, or the ability to comment on replays, so keep those suggestions coming :)
(Speaking of replays, there was also an issue of popups appearing inside them, that I hope I fixed for good)
Also, my partner was talking about adding like a log of all the moves used by both characters during the fight (kinda like the "button presses" you can choose to display in fighting moves), maybe like a popup thingie or in the middle of the screen between both pics, what do you think about that, would that be useful?
In any case, hope you guys like it!
This is awesome! Amazing work as usual!
ReplyDeletenice, adding an online tournament option would be really cool! i'm waiting for it^^

ReplyDeleteUh, well if you're trying to put the game files somewhere inside "C:", try doing so inside the "Desktop" instead?
DeleteThat's more of a Windows related question anyways, googling it would be more helpful to you.

ReplyDeleteI am ecnountering this when trying to connect to the online server. Is this temporary? This is my first time trying to.
Hm, yeah, only a few people have managed to connect, Gmail blocks most of the attempts, unfortunately...
DeleteThe idea behind the so-called "servers" was connecting to a few specific Gmail accounts, and sending and receiving messages as if it was an actual server.
It seemed to work just fine with our many tests (see above video), but apparently Gmail gets suspicious when many people from all around the world try to connect to an account.
So, I'm at a bit of a loss right now, can't find a working alternative... :p
Queen's Blade Rebellion Zero Vol 1 cahpters 4-6 cannot be download. the site says the files are deleted
ReplyDeleteOh, my bad. Link's fixed now.
DeleteNo prob, we appreciate what you guys do
DeleteHi does it automatically match you with people online?
ReplyDeleteThat was supposed to be the idea, but like I mention in the comments above, I can't get the servers to accept everybody who tries to join...
Deletei see,i wasn't able to join for a while but it worked today.
DeleteGot this error while being connected to the server, Unexpected exception=(version=TLS1 cipher=ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA bits=128/128);
DeleteLeecherboy, have you thought about setting up a Discord for QBB?
ReplyDeleteThat's like a chatroom thingie...?
DeleteI was looking the other day into it and seemed somewhat popular, but uh, seeing as I'm not the online-game-player type, mind illustrating me on what it exactly consists of? ^^U
Sorry for the double post.. But in a way it's kinda like IRC. o- o;
DeleteHm, doesn't sound half bad, maybe I can try setting one up and see what happens... I don't know if a lot of people will show up tho...?
DeleteIt's actually like an Image board, chat room, and Community Group rolled into one. ._ .;

I just got into it a week ago for the friends that I usually play games with, I'm absolutely loving it. It's very easy to set up.
