Whew, releasing two versions for two games in a week is hard... oh wait no, it's just this one game, I'm so silly :3

So for the poll on eastern swords, Tarnyang's won with 25v-42%, followed by Tomoe's 15v-25% and Izumi's 13v-22%, while Shizuka was last with 6v-10%.

Oho, must be the first time I see a chinese-ish sword taking a win over classic japanese ones!

Next poll, which staff would you go for? (As in weapon, not as in people!)

And back to QBB, it's been so much time since the last time I did one of these, I almost forgot how these things go! But with that said, here's Shizuka kicking ass, featuring Luna Luna and Tomoe's new scans too!

So, how does Shizuka play anyway? Like Kasumi! *roll credits*

Nah, while it's true that she resembles Kasumi so much I was able to correct the latter not having scores in pages 49 and 51, her selling point is those caltrops up there, that kind of act like Menace's curse but you can try and dodge your way out of it (if your opponent lets you, that is). It was hard to adjust all her funkiness, so let me know if something feels weird!

And how does she fare against all the classic girls? Well, stats-wise, kind of in the middle:

So you don't wanna be taking too many hits while you try to spread those funky caltrops when you get the chance, basically... :)

Sup guys, I know we haven't posted much about QB Battle itself for a long time (what with Hobby Japan not releasing any new books), but that doesn't mean people have just forgotten about our original game!

Our fella Son of Tzeentch 9 sent me this vid he made fighting with pals, and tho I haven't watched it in its entirety yet, the beginning sounded promising enough to share it with you guys!

So yeah, based on the "fire giant" Brimstone, here's Cinderella! Highest BP of all Grimoires (even Zara's), strong standard attacks (for no real reason?), nasty high-damaging freezing beams and tricky maneuvers await you, so beware of her! Be sure to check the tutorial to learn her ins & outs!

If you're interested in the Grimoire's stats, here's how they currently stand:

Do her very few cons make Cindy rather overpowered amongst them all? Probably! :3

Oh by the way, I guess the "online server" thingie turned out to be a bust, it might work fine for a few people, but apparently Gmail won't let lots of people access at the same time, too bad.

While we're on that though, a buddy here proposed the other day making a Discord thingie for QBB, what do you all think, would that be interesting? Wanted to bring that up since I don't have lots of experience with those things, so if you guys figure it'd be something nice for us to have, be sure to let me know! :D

What's the biggest change this time? Well, you can play Online Mode using "servers" now! For some years, I've been trying (and people have asked me as well) to incorporate some kind of free servers to the game and get rid of the hassle of Hamachi and/or knowing your partner's IP, and I've finally come up with an audacious yet quite satisfying solution. You can see it in action here, me fighting my partner:

Of course, this option brings a bit of lag to the table, and since I didn't want to risk having rollback, I decided you can't cancel attacks anymore when playing Online, too bad.
I don't know how this will turn out, so I'd appreciate if you guys tried it out and let me know how it works for you, or maybe some ideas to improve it? (already considering adding a few 8/10 person lobbies for tournaments or stuff, though I'm not very knowledgeable about online games myself)

Craziest update ever? Quite possibly so!

Not to be outdone by Street Fighter V (lool), this update drops with not only a slew of bug fixes and some AI corrections, but also the newest DLC character, Snow White!

She doesn't appear to be based on any LW character, her overall 62% move effectiveness means she beats Tiina in the battle for the Grimoires' top spot by a really tiny margin, and the average damage she takes places her in the middle of the list, not too shabby. She really overdoes it with her summoning mirror, it's quite easy for her to power-up her attacks quasi-permanently, and she can still fight back even when disarmed. Watch out for her apple game!

And that's not all, there's also a lot of new stuff to teach you how to play the chars, including mini-guides adapted from the guides our pal Charles wrote! I don't say this a lot, but hit the jump to see the rest! :3

Truth be told, I've been sitting on this one for a while, because I wanted to release a version with a bit more "oomph" to it... but eh, might as well let 'er rip now.

So yup, this version has a basic version of the Tutorial mode, with around 30 trials to try to teach the basics of the game. The advanced version with individual character trials, "character mechanics", will be grayed out for now, still working on that.
The idea is also to incorporate the insightful analysis of our pal Charles somehow, to let you know at a glance how you should optimally be playing with/against the characters.

If you notice some of them not working right, or you think some could be improved, let me know!

So like we saw in the previous post, here's our piper Despina, based on LW's Arcanthus! Not only that, but we get a couple more old characters (Bitra and Driataur), and the 4 missing dinos (Allosaur, Pachycephalosaur, Pinacosaur and Stegosaur), thanks to our pal Mikey!

And, since Hobby Japan never introduced us to our Despina, let me do the honors this time~

And here's our newest Grimoire Seiten! Based on LW's Umslopagaas, she has some nasty techniques up her sleeve, so watch out for her!

She's gorgeous alright, but I couldn't resist using the pic of her cute multiplication technique (oh excuse me, "Body Outside of Body", is it...?):

Since she's a so-called "villain", the Grimoires now have a proper route in Arcade Mode, plus she just joined all the other bosses at Tournament Mode.

Oh and since someone asked me to translate the author's comments by the end of the book, this should be it:

"Hello and how do you do, this is Aoi Nagisa. I happened to take charge of the “villain character” to Queen’s Blade Grimoire. Seiten meshes both sexiness and rogue-like impishness into one lovely package and I do believe I did a rather good job at depicting it. At least, I hope so. I’d be quite happy if you all end up loving her."

She kept us waiting for a while, but here's the spoilt princess, Kaguya! She's mostly based on the old Lost World's Dalclion XII, and her skill with the sword might not be as fancy as it looks... but beware of her Hourai Shots, that can make short work of anyone! (in fact, her system's unexpectedly complicated, so I hope I didn't make any blunder with it ^^U)

So here's the latest girl, the Witch! Be careful not to get caught up in her curses, or she'll literally sit on you, and you'll become her slave! I was this close to using our new friends the maids for the pic, but obviously this had to portray the very anticipated showdown between the villainess and the heroine...

On another note, this one might turn out to be a quite busy week after all, so keep your eyes peeled!

Here's our latest addition! Gretel has these mechanics where she can transform into Hansel only when she takes damage, so use Hansel's weird and safe moves with caution! Also, she can only do her "Pull Hair" move against opponents with enough grabbable hair, but that should be like all of the QB girls and most of the LW guys.

Goldie's based on LW's Thorgal the Wyrm Slayer... and unfortunately, that means she has two devastating attacks sealed away, that she can only unleash upon 7 or 8 male animals from the LW series. Oh well, what a waste of good honey... :p

To celebrate 3 years of this game of mine, besides favourite FF female Lightning (Commando version, thanks to Okami31 and Baofu), added the main char of the gorgeous fighting game that needs to soar again, that is, Filia from Skullgirls:

To compensate for not exactly getting all of Filia's moves, she's the only char so far who can force a tag out when in tag battles.

Coming next, probably a Ravager version of Lightning... and maybe we can actually have a honest-to-goodness "online mode" soon? Through the seemingly simple concept of "editing spreadsheets in Googledocs", pre-preliminary tests are looking good... Stay tuned!

Go, Grimoire, go! Even after a week, both Alicia's and Zara's books are restocking and selling out like crazy, seems like Grimoire is off to a very good start.

Anyways, busy week, so I only translated and added the recent Zara (that plays similar to LW's Hathor):

I also corrected "Laila" not having her proper name, added "first" and "last" buttons when selecting chars and added a not-quite-elegant-but-definitive solution for any vertical scroll bars still appearing, a new editable parameter in the "system.cfg".

Coming next, Zatch Bell (now for real), and HSOTD's Saeko Busujima. Will Alicia be here too? It's hard to tell now, isn't it...?


Plus, I got the QBR Minis, and I have an extra Ymir and Liliana. Guess I'll put them up on Ebay...
